JustPower was founded by Ben Hamlett, and friend, Lan Medved. The JustPower story traces back to 2012 when both were dedicated followers of a particular artist on Soundcloud. Little did we know that a seemingly playful prank initiated by this artist—adding all of his Skype contacts to a group chat—would unfold into something truly remarkable. This act, initially meant in jest, gave birth to a dynamic supergroup consisting of dozens of aspiring music producers from all corners of the globe.

Our paths crossed in this virtual haven, and from this serendipitous encounter, a profound friendship was born—a friendship that continues to thrive to this day. Over the years, Lan and I have joined forces on numerous collaborative projects, always fuelled by our shared passion for music production.

Our conversations about music and music production flowed effortlessly, and it became clear that our shared enthusiasm could be channelled into something more. When I pitched the idea of establishing JustPower as a dedicated community for real musicians and fans of real music, Lan immediately embraced the vision.

Fast forward to September 2022, and I finally had the immense pleasure of flying out to Slovenia to meet Lan in person. Those few days we spent together were nothing short of incredible, solidifying the bond that began in the digital realm.

This unique journey, sparked by a bit of online mischief, has brought us here—two friends with an unwavering passion for music, united in our mission to empower and uplift the music community through JustPower.
